“The Perfect Design” – Flexico V5 Plate Mounting Technology

BARBERTON, OH - (6/22/07) Printers who have tested Tectonics International’s Flexico V5 describe it as "the perfect design" for flexo plate mounting. The unique hands-free mounting liberates the operator for fine adjustments. Even novices are able to mount flexo plates with perfect register every time.

The patented design of the V5 includes a rise-and-fall plate bed. Operators place the plate onto the bed, where it is pulled forward under the cameras to be aligned to the register marks. Once the plate is lined up, the user activates a foot switch to gently drop the holding bar onto the plate and hold it in position. Then, they can use the two adjusting wheels situated on the right and left hand sides of the plate bed to swivel the plate be for perfect registration. The holding bar keeps the plate securely in place while the user removes the release liner and adheres the plate onto the cylinder. Compared to traditional mounting techniques, where the operator has to hold the plate while simultaneously trying to achieve perfect register and preventing the plate from sticking prematurely to the tape, the V5 offers significant advantages in shorter make-ready times, less risk of stretch damage, and greater ease of operation.

The V5 even easily adjusts for a variety of cylinder sizes. To adjust the size, the operator turns a wheel on the left size to raise or lower the plate bed and automatically refocus the alignment cameras. Because the cameras do not require manual adjustments, they do not experience the wear and tear of being handled by ink-stained hands and last for many years without repair or replacement.
